Daily Insight: Cuffing Season

A wise man once said “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” Now seeing that it’s not quite Christmas yet, I am using this quote as a meaning for the other most wonderful time of the year. Yes ladies and gentlemen summer is officially over and the temperatures are dropping, it's CUFFING SEASON! Now let me go ahead and put this is lamens terms for those of you who may not know what cuffing season is. When the temperature drops and people start going out less, out come the “boo radars” and people start looking for someone to settle down with for the winter.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with looking for someone to share those cold nights with under a blanket sipping hot chocolate watching a romantic comedy….ok wait I digress. But if you are looking to cuff anything like you’re the NYPD at the Puerto Rican day parade we might have a problem here. Don’t cuff someone just for the sake of having a warm body next to you. I say make each cuff count!

Don’t call up homeboy you stopped talking to 6 months ago when you found out about all his drama now because the temperature dropped a bit….don’t start sending Facebook messages more frequently to the girl with a possession problem because you want someone to make you hot chocolate…don’t send that man whose cell phone is off more than it is on a smoke signal cause you got a little lonely like Janet Jackson.

It’s going to be a long winter cause it’s cold as hell already in October. But don’t cuff something you don’t want to deal with come December just for the sake of cuffing. Make sure everything counts. I say pull out the long johns and thermal socks…it can still be the most wonderful time of the year even without a cuff joint.
